What to expect
-
We first make an impression of the current situation of your teeth. We will use this impression to make a temporary crown.
With the help of proper anesthetic, we reshape your tooth in a specific way. This is needed to make enough space for the cap (crown) on top of your tooth.
A digital scan is made and sent to a lab, where the dental technician will create the permanent dental crown by using CAD/CAM (computer aided design and manufacturing) technology.
After two weeks, the permanent dental crown is placed by one of our experienced dentists.
-
Keep your crown clean just like you would keep your other teeth clean.
Brushing twice a day with fluoride containing toothpaste. Floss daily in between the teeth.
Even though your crown is strong, It is recommended to avoid extremely hard food and chewing on very hard and dense substances.
-
You can have a crown on your own natural teeth or a crown on implants.
Different materials are possible. Most of the time a tooth-colored material is chosen. But we can also make a golden crown.
