Dental Implants
To replace a missing tooth, an implant may be an option for you. Our experienced dentists will offer various solutions/options during a consultation.
An implant procedure involves placing an artificial root in the jawbone. A crown, bridge or denture is then attached to the artificial root.
One of the main benefits of a dental implant is that the surrounding/adjacent teeth are untreated and in their natural state.

A solo x-ray, panoramic x-ray and often also a CBCT-scan is necessary for proper treatment planning.
Under local anesthesia, the dental implant is placed in your jawbone and covered with a healing abutment or a cover screw. The healing abutment is exposed and needs to be cleaned daily.
After 3-months, a digital scan is made and sent to the lab, where the dental technician will create the permanent dental crown, bridge, denture by using CAD/CAM (computer aided design and manufacturing) technology.
After two weeks, the permanent dental crown, bridge or denture is placed by your dentist on the implants.

Keep your implant clean just like you would keep your natural teeth clean. That means brushing twice a day and using superfloss in between the dummy teeth.
If you still only have a healing abutment on your implant you can keep that clean by brushing the healing abutment.
